About me

My name is Elena-Cristina Constantin and I am an authorised Danish translator with several years of experience. I speak fluent Romanian, Danish and English and have been working as an interpret and translator for authorities, firms and private persons since 2020.

2017

Shortly after I graduated from high school in Bucharest, Romania, I moved to Næstved, Denmark, to study a Bachelor of Commerce Management at ZIBAT.

2018

As I was writing my Bachelor’s project, I started attending Danish language courses, and thus learned to speak and write Danish fluently over the course of the following years.

2020

In my free time I volunteer at one of Kirkens Korshær’s charities located on Istedgade. The majority of the charity’s guests are Romanians, who can neither speak Danish, nor English, and thus are often in stringent need for help and advice on matters that require the ability to read and understand Danish. As a result, one of the main tasks on the job is to guide and teach them navigate through the Danish society. This experience has kick-started my translation and interpreter carrier, and in 2020 I was officially approved as a Danish Romanian translator and interpreter by the Danish police.

2021 - 2024

Between 2021 and 2024 I have been enrolled in a Bachelor’s program at Copenhagen Business School. The BSc in Business Administration and Digital Management provided me with comprehensive knowledge about the implications of digitalization for businesses. Through this program I have acquired skills in strategizing, handling data, and utilizing technologies to manage sustainable digital transformations and implement innovative business solutions.

2024 - now

Starting in autumn 2024, I will be embarking on the MSc in Economics and Business Administration - Accounting, Strategy, and Control program at Copenhagen Business School. I am excited to gain advanced skills in financial reporting, strategic decision-making, and performance management. This program will provide me with a deep understanding of how to align accounting practices with strategic objectives, and enhance my ability to control and manage organizational performance effectively.

In my opinion, mastering Romanian and Danish is not sufficient to be an interpreter.

On the contrary, to translate official documents and interpret verbally, one needs to have solid knowledge on a variety of topics such as legislation, society, politics, and economics. For this reason, I have chosen to further educate myself and improve my core competency skills to ensure that my translations are current and precise.

Besides studying at Copenhagen Business School, I have an exciting student job at the Danish Ministry of Taxation, where I work with data in the sourcing and reporting department.
